At the beginning of May we started excavation of tunnel Vötting in Freising, Bavaria. Road tunnel Vötting is 705 m long, of which 461 m will be excavated using New Austrian Tunneling Method. The heading will be divided into excavation of the calotte and invert. Strengthening measures will be carried out using reinforcement with spraying concrete, steel anchors and pipe umbrellas. Cross section of the tube will be around 100 sqm. Additionally one 13 m long connecting shaft has to be excavated as a connection to an emergency exit. Expected challenges will be difficult geology and high water influx.
