In April Euro Alliance Tunnels started a new project in North Europe: the Rasa Ahonmäki tunnel in Finland. The twin tubes tunnel with total length 404 m is located in the South-East, near to the Russian border on a highway E18 connecting Helsinki with Saint Peterburg. The tubes with a diameter up to 130 m2 will be driven by blasting. Aproximatelly in the middle of the tubes a connecting crosscut with a vertical shaft have to be excavated. After excavation works the inner lining will be installed using precasted concrete elements, steel mesh and sprayed concrete. For Euro Alliance Tunnels this is the second project in Finland. We are proud that we can again prove our professional expertise and experience to the client and demonstrate our ability to cope with challenging conditions and complex requirements.
