Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure of Serbia, Zorana Mihajlović, paid an official visit to the Predejane Tunnel construction site. The director of Koridori Srbje d.o.o, Dmitar Đurović, the head of the Regional Office for the Western Balkans at the European Investment Bank, Andreas Beikos, as well as representatives of the local Serbian authorities were also present at the event. General Contractor of the Project is Euro Alliance Tunnels AD.
The visit is part of the Minister Mihajlović’s tour of the continuing construction of Caričina Dolina - Vladičin Han road section and Predejane Tunnel which had an official breakthrough at the end of April 2016.
„Construction of Corridor 10, which has been discussed for over 30 years, is a great success for all of us. This is the most important infrastructure project in Serbia and now we see that it is drawing to an end,” Mihajlović stated.
„The highway construction is not possible without bridges and tunnels”, the Director of Koridori Srbje d.o.o, Dmitar Đurović added. According to him state-of-the art equipment is used for the construction of Predejane Tunnel and there are only 180 m left to the tunnel breakthrough. „We are thankful for the successful partnership with Euro Alliance”, he concluded.
„The projects have been developed in unfavourable geological conditions but despite the numerous challenges our specialist have faced, the construction is within the agreed timeframe. The breakthrough of Predejane Tunnel is another proof that there are not complex projects, there are professional solutions. I would like to thank the team for the good approach”, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euro Alliance, Dipl. Eng. Arch. Valentin Trashliev stated.
