Shortly after welcoming the new year 2018 we broke through the calotte of tunnel Vötting. The part built with NATM was 458 m long, with cross section around 100 sqm. In the upcoming weeks the works will proceed with excavation of lower parts of the tube. The excavation of the calotte was a big challenge due to the geological situation - we had to proceed very carefully and divide the face heading into 6 partial areas. Spits grouted with acrylate protected the excavation. Additional securing was carried out with grouted stay sills.
