The construction of Metro Station No 6, located next to Zad Kanala City Theater has started. The project is part of position 3 of the first stage of the Third Metro-Diameter. Katya Popova, the Chief Executive Officer of Euro Alliance, and Dipl. Eng. Arch. Valentin Trashliev, Chairman of the Board of the Directors of the holding, have given the start of the station strengthening today, April 26, 2016.
The project was assigned by Metropoliten and it is executed by Metrostroitelstvo – a joint venture consisting of Euro Alliance Tunnels AD, Trace Group Hold AD and Inj-Proekt Ltd.
The Metro Station will be constructed based on the classic Milan Method, strengthened by diaphragm walls, where the section will be 60 cm thick, with an average depth of 22 meters. It is also envisaged the walls to be anchored with IBO anchors.
“Euro Alliance is a company with broad experience in special construction, including the building of complex geo-technical facilities such as the Sofia Metro. The implementation of projects of such large scale requires significant technological expertise and commitment to quality without compromise”, said Dipl. Eng. Arch. Valentin Trashliev. According to him the company main mission is to ensure safe and healthy work conditions at each and every site during construction. “Therefore we continuously improve all work environment aspects and invest in new equipment and machinery, and in highly effective, modern personal protective equipment.”,Dipl. Eng. Arch. Trashliev added. He also wished the team a successful and safe work, favorable geological conditions and project completion within a short time frame.
Metro Station 6 is situated underground. The length of the platform is 113 meters and it is located under the west road lane of Evlogy and Hristo Georgievi Boulevard, between Yanko Sakazov Boulevard and Silistra Street. The station has two access sides– a southwest one (from “Yanko Sakazov” boulevard) and a northeast one (from the theater and the residential area around Poduene Market). There is only one exit, which is situated on the corner of Madrid and Evlogy and Hristo Georgievi boulevards.
