Two years ago Euro Alliance Tunnels constructed two vertical shafts in Stuttgart, Germany. Now we started with excavation of another vertical construction, which belongs to the same project Long-distance railways bypass Bad Cannstatt. After its completion this smoke extraction shaft will connect two tunnels, each on different level.
The shaft will be 39 m deep and over 7 m wide. Approximately in the middle of the shaft in the half time of the excavation the first tunnel will be broken though into the shaft and after the second half the break through of the lower tube will follow. After the excavation of the soil, strengthening with anchors, steel mats and spraying concrete follows. Installation of an inner lining structure will finish the works.
