On 12th of June 2014 a consecration of tunnel “T2” /Kocherinovo/, part of LOT 2 of highway “Struma” was held.
The tunnel is being excavated by “Euro Alliance Tunnels” JSC. Special guests of the ceremony were the mayor of Dupnitza municipality eng. Metody Chimev, governors of the towns and villages in the regions nearby, represents of the police, fire department and the labor inspection agency.
In his welcoming speech, the SEO of the company Eng. Arch. Valentin Trashliev announced the news of the reaching of 100 000 meters of constructed tunnels by “Euro Alliance Tunnels” JSC.
"Tunnel 2" is part of LOT 2 of the expansion of Highway “Struma”. The tunnel is designed with two separated tubes – each for the different directions with length of the right tube 355 m and the left tube 341 m. According to the plan the axle distance between the two tunnel tubes varies from 27.78 m (in the portal zone) to 44.86 m on km 351+290.
The tunnel is constructed after the New Austrian Tunneling Method (NATM).
Contractor is Consortium “Struma – LOT2”, performer of the main contract.
