On the 11th of November 2018 the digging works on the Subway tunnel connecting MS 16 and MS 17 completed ahead of schedule. The tunnel is part of the Third Metro Diameter of the Sofia Metro project, which is still under construction.
The length of the tunnel is 616.06 m and it's cross section is 63 m2. Is is constructed after the New Austrian Tunneling Method in unfavourable for tunnel construction geological conditions in densely populated urbain areas.
