On 28th of July in the morning the last blast in the first tube (Helsinki direction) succeeded and few hours later also the second tube (Vaalimaa direction)  has been broken through. So we can proudly announce the end of excavation.
All works have been carried out in time, meeting all requirements of general contractor and Finnish authorities. The excavation in hard rock was challenging for both, manpower and machinery.
The twin-tubes tunnel with length 202 m (each) and cross section up to 130 m2 is connected through one crosscut. After completing the excavation works a vertical shaft has to be excavated. And we look forward to the next part of this project - installation of the secondary lining structure, where we can demonstrate and prove our knowledge, experience and reliability.
