At the beginning of August 2016 Euro Alliance Tunnels started excavation works in Pforzheim in southern Germany.
A new tube with 900 m length will replace the 150 years old Pforzheimer tunnel, which does not meet the actual requirements and standards on safety service any more. The excavation is divided into calotte, bench and invert. The chosen method is New Austrian Tunneling Method. In some parts of the twin-track tunnel the geology is very poor and piperoof grouting is required to stabilize the vault.
Euro Alliance Tunnels participates in the project with its skilled tunneling personnel as with blasters.
